August 20, 2006 – (Manila) – Postcript for Philippine Readers on "Earth & Beyond" – The other day we dished out prospects that the International Astronomical Union or IAU that is holding meetings in Prague this week might revolutionize and re-define our views on planets and possibly add three celestial bodies as planet class.
The three additional planets from the standard or traditional nine planets will soon include the large asteroid between Mars and Jupiter called Ceres and the planet X, seen as farthest “planet” after Pluto and the first discovered moon of Pluto called Charon.
Now if Charon would be re-classified as a planet … what will we Filipinos call Charon?
CHARON PLANETA?!?
Well, SHE is planet size already ... don’t you agree? :-P
